Work, and getting away for a bit

Date September 22, 2006

Today, I woke up feeling terrible. For the last week or so, I’ve actually been waking up tired. Not the normal “first thing in the morning” tired… but physically tired. Probably due to the hours I’m working, and I should take a break. Today I got a chance. I had the possibility of a Blackberry being dropped into my lap. This would give me 24×7 email access. This would be a good thing… for the people at work. While I am generally reachable 24×7 anyway, having the ability to check my email 24×7 means I would have more means to be actually working. This is a bad thing for me, because I am, what most would call, a work-a-holic. If I have work in front of me, I will do it, regardless of the time, or the day. I already have 24×7 nationwide internet access courtesy of Verizon.

So why didn’t I take the Blackberry? Actually I was going to, was even filling out the form for it to be reaquisitioned to me. They hired a new director, who is far more important than I am, and as such, he gets the Blackberry. Hooray for me, no Blackberry.

On the other hand, I am trying to get out more, and I am planning on getting back to the gym some time soon. I need to do something other than work 18-20 hours a day.

New new guy started today, after “complications” with the old new guy. The new new guy seems pretty cool, will probably fit in quite well… still not “Bill” though.

Your pants are “in the fridge, it’s where I find everything”.

And the new directory is Tim something… Can’t remember his last name. Or his roll to be honest. I just know he’s important :)

I’m Important, people know me. I have alot of books in my library and it smells of rich mahogany.

What do you mean “complications”? Can leave me hanging like that!!

And no, no one will ever be “Bill”….”Bill” is a legend you will be telling your grand kids about…”Bill” will one day become synonymous with network terrorism….”Bill” was and will always be The PREVENTER of Information Technology!!
