Getting Ready…

Date May 29, 2007

I’ve been reading The Strobist for a bit now, and realized that I’d just missed last year’s Lighting 101. Apparently he’s running a second course this year (aptly named Lighting 102). I picked myself up a few goodies. All but one of the items was from eBay.

The Nikon SB-800 [...]

Dallas Arboretum

Date May 15, 2007

I’ve been renting a Nikon 105mm VR Macro lens from ZipLens, and got to take a trip to Dallas Arboretum last weekend. This is one of the shots with the lense. I have this one as my desktop at the moment. I quite like it. Very nice bright orange-yellow. There [...]

Dallas Zoo

Date March 14, 2007

Managed to get out over the weekend to the Dallas zoo. Quite busy due to Radio Disney putting on a bit of a show, but I managed to get some pictures taken. This is one of the lioness at the zoo. I have more in my [1].

ScobleShow goes live

Date September 26, 2006

I’ve not had a chance to watch all of them, but I watched a segment called “Photowalking“, with a San Francisco photographer. It’s great to see the work, and how he does things. My only criticism of it would be Robert Scoble not having a microphone on himself. Questions from behind the [...]

A few weeks ago, we went to San Antonio Zoo for a day trip. I have finally had a chance to go through, and upload some of the images from the trip. This is one of my favourite images. There are more here.

Nikon on Linux

Date September 18, 2006

I have been curious about building “the ultimate Linux Desktop” for a while, but one of the requirements would be support for my Nikon D70s. As I shoot in RAW format, and that is usually propitiatory per camera manufacturer (Nikon is NEF), some special software is required, so I googled for “Linux Nikon RAW”, [...]

Food tips

Date July 25, 2006

I’ve been contemplating playing with a little food photography recently, just some small little projects. I used to enjoy watching my uncle work. He’s had a large amount of work published in a variety of books. It was inspiring watching his creativity. So for some headstarts, I’ve been looking at some [...]

Tweaking exposure on image parts

Date July 10, 2006

Been wondering how to do this as I’m terrible at over exposing parts, and not others. This little walk-through shows you how to fix parts of an image, and includes a perfect example that fits quite well into how I seem to always screw up images.

I love it…

Date April 9, 2006

I really do. I quite like my D70s. It’s taking a little getting used to, lots more buttons, and the size is bigger than my N65, but now it feels right at home in my hand, the grip feels great. I only have a little trouble getting to some of the buttons, [...]

Wooo… it’s here
