The Usual Tech Ramblings

Photography

After my vacation to the UK this year, my interest in photography has been respawned. I think this was mostly due to the fact that I think I need to be doing more than just work all the time, otherwise I’m going to be a little frizzled by the time I hit 30.

While I am probably one of the least creative in the whole of my family, giving my brain something other to do than technical stuff seemed like a great idea. When I was a little younger, I used to visit my uncle and watch him produce some amazing pieces of art work with his photography. He does professional photography, specializing in food and similar such things.

It was around this time I asked for a camera for one of my birthdays. And I got one, a very nice one. Not a simple point and shoot camera, but a full manual SLR by the name of Cosina C1. It works very well, and has produced what I’d consider to be excellent pictures. Being completely manual, it means you have to think a little faster when trying to do action shots as you have several things you have to set before the picture will come out well.

Having been bitten by the bug again, I decided to purchase a new camera. Something a little more recent, and easier to expand upon. I decided on a Nikon N75. I’m waiting for it to arrive, should be here next week some time, and I’m looking forward to playing with it. But for now, I will continue to play with my Cosina, and will probably keep it around to toy with in the future.

If you are interested in some of my pictures, you can take a look at them in my gallery.
