The Usual Tech Ramblings

Pasta Carbonara

It’s been a while since I’ve had this dish. My mum found it in a book titled “The Cost Conscious Cook Book” (I cannot find it on Amazon, otherwise I’d link to it). It’s a really simple dish, but rather tasty…

Things to wreck your weekend...

I’ve discovered that there are always lots of random things that can wreck a good weekend… For example, getting alarms, and emails at 0700 on a Sunday morning reporting possible power issues, then more alarms at 0900 confirming a power outage.

Handy Dandy Photography Videos

If you’re new to lighting, studio or not, Strobist rocks. Recently I’ve discovered a new resource. ProPhotoLife is another blog that has a lot of studio based walk throughs, giving examples of setups, lighting guides, and all kinds of cool stuff. The nifty thing is how he’s doing some of it. See if you can spot what he’s using for light stands in some of the videos.

Tracking things I want to write about...

So, I mentioned in my post Blah1 that I had a few things to write about. Unfortunately I’ve been so busy, they keep slipping my mind (as also mentioned). So I figured the best way to remember what to write about, is to start a post, write a quick subject, and paste any related links, just as a “post-it” so to speak. So I quickly documented several posts, and queued them up for when I have a few minutes to post them… Simple, and effective.

Blah

I’ve been awful about actually posting something on here. It’s not that I’ve not had stuff to post, as I have some MS Office stuff I wanted to document, and some other bits and pieces too, I’ve just been… swamped. I’ll see what I can get scribbled out. I should probably jot down somewhere want I want to write about, I keep thinking of stuff, and they get bumped out of my head by “stuff”.
